How to Loop YouTube Videos to Play Repeatedly

Have you ever wanted to play a YouTube video repeatedly in a loop? Maybe it’s a song, a TV show, a kids video, music video, something funny, whatever it is, you’d like to play it repeatedly on a loop. WhileYouTube is generally designed to play a video once and then either stop playing or move onto another different video in a playlist automatically, a hidden feature allows YouTube users to replay any video in an infinite loop, without having to turn to any tricks, funky third party websites, shady downloads, or anything else. The new YouTube looping playback feature is built right into the browser based player and is easy to use.

To loop a video with YouTube for infinitely repeated play, be sure you are using a modern web browser. Whether that is Chrome, Safari, or Firefox doesn’t matter, as long as it’s a new version, it should support the looping video feature. The loop trick also works the same on any operating system, so it shouldn’t matter if you’re on Mac OS X, Windows, or Linux. The rest is really easy and it works with any video or movie that is on YouTube or from YouTube, even if they’re embedded in a webpage.

How to Set a Playing YouTube Video to Loop Repeatedly

  1. Open any web browser and visit any YouTube video, for example purposes you can use the embedded video below which plays 9 seconds of crickets chirping (exciting!), or click here to load the same video in a new window
  2. Start playing the video as usual, then right-click (or two-finger click on a Mac trackpad) on the video as it’s playing to bring up a hidden menu of options, choose “Loop” from this popup menu
  3. Here is the embedded short YouTube sample video of crickets chirping to test this out easily, just play the video, right-click, and choose “Loop” to try the looping playback feature out right now on this very webpage.
  4. The video will now play repeatedly in a loop, you can pause or stop the video as usual or right-click and choose “Loop” again to uncheck the looping playback feature and stop the movie from repeatedly playing

How to Loop YouTube Videos to Play Repeatedly

This is a great feature that is not yet well known, but it’s quite useful for obvious reasons and should be appreciated by many YouTube viewers for all kinds of videos.

If you’re not sure how this all works, the tutorial below will demonstrate how to loop the above example YouTube video with this easy trick:

Video Tutorial

There doesn’t appear to be any limitations on the video loops or on any videos themselves, you can loop long videos or short videos, videos belonging to someone else or uploaded yourself from iOS or from OS X, it doesn’t matter, if it’s on YouTube it will have the loop feature. This can be great if you want to repeatedly play an album or song on YouTube, or the same show, or some nice scenery for a screen saver or mood video, the use cases are wide. Enjoy!

Note that at the moment this appears to be limited to desktop versions of YouTube, so Android and iPhone users won’t yet have the ability (that we’re aware of, post in the comments if you figure out how to loop on mobile devices without apps or websites!), so if you were hoping to repeatedly play a YouTube video in the background on the iPhone on a loop, you’ll have to just start the video over again when it finishes, as the feature is not yet implemented on the mobile side of things.

How to Add Instant Search in WordPress with Algolia

Have you ever wanted to add an instant search feature in your WordPress site? The default WordPress search feature is quite limited which is why a lot of probloggers replace it with third-party tools and plugins. In this article, we will show you how to add instant search in WordPress with Algolia.

Why Add an Instant Search Feature in WordPress?

The default WordPress search is plain and often not relevant. This is why many WordPress users replace it with third-party search tools like Google Search, or WordPress plugins like SearchWP. See our list of 12 WordPress search plugins to improve your site search.

A search feature on your website can significantly improve user experience. It helps users find content, which increases your pageviews and the time users spend on your website.

Instant search feature helps users find content as quickly as they start typing. This helps users get to their desired content much quickly. Think of it as MacOS’s spotlight feature for your WordPress site.

Having said that, let’s take a look at how to add instant search to your WordPress site with Algolia.

What is Algolia?

Algolia is a cloud based search platform that allows you to build beautiful search experiences for your websites and applications.

Once activated, Algolia will index all content on your website and replace the default WordPress search with a more powerful cloud based search.

It comes with a built-in instant search feature which means your users can get to the content faster without even seeing a search results page.

Algolia offers a free plan with 10,000 records and 100,000 queries per month. Their paid plans start from $49 per month and come with a 14 day free trial.

Adding Instant Search in WordPress with Algolia

First, you need to visit Algolia website and sign up for an account.

Next, you need to install and activate the Search by Algolia plugin. For more details, see our step by step guide on how to install a WordPress plugin.

Upon activation, the plugin will add a new menu item labeled Algolia to your WordPress menu. Clicking on it will take you to the plugin’s settings page.

You will be asked to provide application ID and API keys. You can obtain this information from your Algolia account dashboard.

Copy and paste the required keys in the plugin’s settings page and then click on the save changes button to store your settings.

Next, you will be asked to index your content. Indexing allows Algolia to crawl and create an index of your content, so that it can be searched quickly without slowing down your website.

You can begin indexing by visiting Algolia » Indexing page and select the content types you want to be indexed. Don’t forget to click on the save changes button.

Algolia will now start indexing your content. It may take a while depending on how much content you have on your website.

Next, you need to enable the autocomplete feature. Go to Algolia » Autocomplete and check the box next to ‘Enable autocomplete’ option. After that you need to scroll down and select the content types to include in your autocomplete results.

Don’t forget to click on the save changes button to store your settings.

Lastly, you need to replace the default WordPress search with the Algolia instant search. You can do this by going to Algolia » Search Page and select ‘Use Algolia in the backend’ option.

Selecting Algolia in the backend replaces your WordPress search with Algolia search.

Click on the save changes button to store your settings.

Adding Instant Search Box in WordPress

Now that you have successfully setup Algolia, let’s go ahead and add an instant search box on your website.

Algolia automatically replaces the default WordPress search form with an Algolia powered search.

If you have already added the search form to your WordPress site, then it will start showing results using Algolia automatically.

If you haven’t added a search form, then go to Appearance » Widgets page. Drag and drop the search widget to your sidebar. See our guide on how to add and use widgets in WordPress.

Please make sure to click on the save button to store your widget settings.

That’s all, you can now visit your website to see the instant search in action. Start by typing in the search box, and Algolia will start showing results as you type.

Should Majority Really an Authority

Should Majority Really an Authority

From my school going age, I have always been listening that “Majority is Authority”. Most of the times, when we were deciding a menu for the treat or a destination for a trip, we followed this rule as it was ambiguous for me in those times. When I entered into the age of maturity, this rule exposed its actual ambiguity. Following the sea of crowd having false and immoral ideologies may cost us a big trouble. As Allah has mentioned in Surah I-anam verse 112; “And if you obey most of those upon the earth, they will mislead you from the way of Allah. They follow not except assumptions, and they are not but falsifying.” So before following any set of rules adopted by majority we should consider first that whether its implication will be productive or beneficial in a given set of conditions. Public opinion when not supported by good reasons is not a safe guide to follow.

However sometimes we really face conditions when we are left with no choice except following the majority. For e.g.., if a loyal civil servant wants to serve the country with absolute honesty, he is not appreciated but is tempted to follow the trends of corruption.  Socrates said that, “Opinion of the majority is something that cannot be ignored, for they are capable of inflicting great harm on anyone who has incurred their disapproval. He always stressed on the fact that one should not follow anything swayed by the emotional appeals but to follow a course that is directed by a reason. So we should always search for the hidden reasons that forms the principle of a developed rule and only then we judge the applicability of trends followed by majority.

A group of people practicing the moral values however provide us with the safest rules to follow since their developed principles are not based on desires and personal benefits but on mutual benefits. However, such kind of people are always few as it is mentioned in Quran e Pak in Surah Swaad verse 24: “Save those who believe and do good, and very few are they.” The only reason behind it is that, Mankind has forgotten the actual teachings and set of beliefs given by our Almighty, so to accomplish the personal worldly goals.

We have justified everything saying, “Dunyaaese hi chaltyhy”. The concept of dowry, bribery, injustice, corruption has been developed on this rule. All we need is to be strong and stand against all the immoral set of beliefs imposed by majority. We need to change this concept and reform it as “Morality is Authority”.

How to Add an Author’s Avatar Photo in WordPress

Do you want to add an author’s photo in WordPress? By default, most WordPress themes display an author’s gravatar image as their profile photo. But what if you wanted to replace the gravatar image with an actual author photo? In this article, we will show you how to easily add an author’s photo in WordPress.

When Do You Need Custom Author Photo in WordPress?

If you run a single author WordPress site, then you can just use an image widget to add your photo and an about page with more information.

On the other hand, if you run a multi-author WordPress site, then you may need to add an author bio box at the end of your articles. Author bio box typically shows an author’s profile photo, brief bio, and links to their website or social profiles.

By default, most WordPress themes display an author’s gravatar image as their author photo. However, sometimes an author may not have a gravatar image or they may not want to use it as an author image on your website.

Having said that, let’s see how to easily add author photo in WordPress and allow authors to upload a photo to their profile.

Adding an Author Photo in WordPress

First thing you need to do is install and activate the WP User Avatar plugin. For more details, see our step by step guide on how to install a WordPress plugin.

Upon activation, the plugin will add a new menu item labeled Avatars in your WordPress admin bar. Clicking on it will take you to the plugin’s settings page.

WP User Avatar settings

Here you can choose how you want to display the user avatars on your WordPress website.

By default, this plugin allows users with at least an Author role to upload their own profile photo. You can change that and allow contributors and subscribers as well.

It also allows you to completely disable Gravatar on your WordPress site and only use local avatars.

Once you are comfortable with the settings, go ahead and click on save changes button to save them.

Now you can go to Users page and click on the edit butt

Don’t forget to click on the ‘Update profile’ button to save your changes.

Similarly, users on your WordPress site will be able to upload their photos by editing their user profile.

Now you can visit your website to see the plugin in action.

It will start showing local avatar as author photo for the articles. If a user does not add an author photo, then it will show their gravatar image.

If a user doesn’t have an author photo or gravatar image, then it will fallback to the default gravatar image. You can add a branded custom gravatar image to be used as fallback image.

How to Set Expiration Dates for Shared Google Drive Files

When you share any file or folder in Google Drive with another user, the shared links will work forever unless you manually change the sharing permissions. For instance, if you have shared a document with an external vendor, they’ll continue to have access to the file long after your business contract may have ended.

In such a situation, wouldn’t it be nice if you could set expiration dates while sharing files in Google Drive? For instance, share a document temporarily for, say, 10 days and access to the file should be revoked automatically after that period has passed.

ADD AN AUTO-EXPIRY DATE FOR SHARED LINKS IN GOOGLE DRIVE

Google Drive does let you set expiration dates for shared links but this option is only available to paid Google App for Work accounts.

Well, no worries. If you have a free Google account, you can still create temporary links that auto-expire after a certain time. Here’s a step by step guide:

  1. Go to j.mp/sg_expirescript and authorize the web app to access your Google Drive.
  2. Open the File Picker and select any file or folder in your Google Drive that you would like share.
  3. Enter one or more email addresses (comma separated) of users who should be given viewer (read-only) or editor (read & write) access to your file.
  4. Finally, specify the time period after which the access should be limited. You can say 5 hours or 3 weeks or even 2 years.

Click the “Set Expiration” button and you are done. The Google Script will set a time-based trigger that will automatically remove the specified user from the access list after the specified date and time.

The auto-expiry app will list all the files and folders that are set to expire after a certain period. You can click the “cancel” link against any Drive link to prevent that shared link from expiring automatically.

How to Easily Switch between Multiple Gmail Accounts

Lots of us maintain multiple Google accounts for a variety of reasons. Maybe your day is mostly spent inside Gmail and Google Calendar associated with your work account but you prefer to store files inside Google Drive of your personal Google Account.

Google does make it easy for you to sign-in to multiple Google accounts simultaneously so you don’t have to log out of one Gmail account to check emails of the other one. Simply go to accounts.google.com/AddSession and sign-in with the other Google account inside the same browser session.

SIGN-IN IS EASY, SWITCHING ACCOUNTS IS DIFFICULT

One you are logged in, click your profile image in the upper right and select any Google account from the drop down to switch to that account.

Sarmad Gardezi ehow life

The default account, the one that appears on top of that list, is the one that you signed in with first. Thus, if you type mail.google.com in your browser’s address bar, you’ll always be taken your Gmail account. If you need to set another Google account as the default one, you’d have to sign-out of all existing accounts and sign-in first with that account.

That’s obviously too many steps for users who have to constantly juggle between multiple accounts. So here’s a simple URL trick that will help you switch between Google accounts quickly.

CREATE KEYBOARD SHORTCUTS FOR GOOGLE ACCOUNTS

Go to the Gmail website and press Ctrl+D (or Cmd+D on Mac) to bookmark the Gmail website.

gmail-bookmark

Click the Edit button to modify the bookmark. Here add ?authuser=email@gmail.com after the last slash(/) symbol and append the shortcut to the bookmark name as shown below. We use the short “gw” meaning Google Apps for Work Gmail.

gmail-multiple-signin

Repeat the steps for all your other Gmail accounts.

You can now type gw in the address bar to quickly launch your work Gmail account even if that account may not be your default Google account.

If you are a keyboard ninja, shortcuts are a much faster way to do things that using your mouse to click a bunch of menu items. The trick works with all Google Apps services including Google Drive, Contacts and Calendar.

Love & Relationship

The concept of love has been studied throughout history. Philosophers have been asking such questions as “What is love?” and “Why do we love?” since the beginning of time. Love and relationship are deeply connected with every individual life of the society.
