Protesters belonging to religious parties
Protesters belonging to religious parties, Tehreek-i-Khatm-i-Nabuwwat and Tehreek-i-LabaikYaRasool Allah (TLY) and the Sunni Tehreek Pakistan (ST) staged a “sit-in” in Faizabad. This decision has left the people of capital city in a miserable condition. Protesters have occupied the Faizabad Bridge which connects Rawalpindi and Islamabad through Islamabad Expressway and Murree road, both of which are the busiest roads in twin cities. All this chaos started when Law Minister, Zahid Hamid made an amendment in the affidavit that contained the clause about the finality of Prophet Hood. However these changes to the law were quickly reversed but it evoked a massive riot. The demand to dismiss the Law Minister is the main reason behind this stress. Government seems to be reluctant against this demand and the leaders of religious parties are continually spreading the hatred speech to blow the fire in Nation’s heart. Khatm-i-Nabuwwat is a very sensitive issue and it shouldn’t be ignored but the way in which this protest is heading is the matter of concern. ISI has submitted reports to Supreme Court declaring that this protest is being supported through foreign support from India. The chief of Intelligence Bureau is asked to trace the call records of the TehreekLabbaikYaRasool Allah leadership to ascertain who was backing the protest. According to the Interior Minister, AhsanIqbal, there is a political motive behind these protests as the elections are approaching. It seems like there is a war of tug between government and protestors. Pakistani Nation is very sensitive to the matter of Religion as well as the matter of terrorism (especially if India is involved in it). Uptil now ISI has not provided the satisfactory report to the Supreme Court so this recrimination cannot be accepted in any way. The Supreme Court should summon the suspected instigators behind this event. Government should answer the demands of protestors in a peaceful and satisfying manner ensuring the protection of Laws concerning finality of Prophet Hood. Violent Answer to every situation isn’t the solution. Laal-Masjid tragedy proved itself as the worst decision taken by Government to use Force. Religious Leaders should also consider the reality of situation and instead of putting the country in worsening situation, should handle the matter in a peaceful and addressable manner. I heard a speech of AllamaKhadimRizvi on facebook before Social media Black-out and he was using such abuses that it left me in astonishment. That wasn’t the speech of an Islamic Scholar. Hazrat Muhammad (S.A.W) never addressed his opponents in such words. How can you fight in the name of Prophet Muhammad (S.A.W), if you cannot follow his teachings and Sunnah?
Pakistan is deprived of good governance and effective Islamic Scholars and this is why this nation fall in the calamities again and again!
